about me

J. Humberto Sossa A.

I received the BS degree in Communications and Electronics from the University of Guadalajara in 1980. I obtained my Master degree in Electrical Engineering from CINVESTAV-IPN in 1987 and the PhD in Informatics form the INPG, France in 1992. I am currently a full-time professor at the Center for Computing Research, of the National Polytechnic Institute from Mexico since 1996. I am also Head of the Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory of the Center for Computing Research, of the National Polytechnic Institute. I have five books, ten patents and more than 450 publications in international journals, books and national and international conferences. My research areas (basic and applied) are Artificial Intelligence, Machines Learning, and Robotics. I belong to National Research System level 3. I am a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. I am a Senior Member of the IEEE (Senior), and member of ACM, INSTIC, AMIAC and AMEXCOMP and AIM.
